Payments, Holds, and Refund Rules

How Dogmato holds challenge funds until completion or a final dispute outcome.

Updated: 2026-05-05 EN
Dogmato safe-deal logic means supporters can fund a challenge while payout to the creator remains conditional on a successful result or a dispute outcome that clears release.

1. Hold stage

Once real payment is processed, funds are treated as challenge-held and are not available as unrestricted creator proceeds.

2. Payout opening triggers

Payout may open after accepted completion, expiry of the review window without blocking claims, or another lifecycle decision that explicitly allows the next payout step.

Opening payout does not mean an instant automatic transfer to the creator: in the current MVP runtime the case still moves through staged payout review, verification/KYC checks, and separate operator processing.

3. Refund triggers

Refund may follow cancellation, non-completion, a reject/dispute outcome, fraud or compliance concerns, or another platform-defined reversal trigger.

4. Manual controls

Dogmato may delay release while a challenge is under moderation, fraud review, ownership review, payout/KYC hold, or PSP investigation.

The escrow rules page describes the hold stage, release triggers, refund triggers, and manual compliance blocks on payout.
